I made it back safely after pulling over a half a dozen times just to get 30 minutes here and there. Thank yall for a wonderful time....yall just don't know that trip for me was blessing in disguise (sp).
Okay,
I will have to admit the first couple of miles on my 5 hour trip back to the house (that took me 9 hours to make), I was crying like a baby. I really missed leaving you guys. I was suppose to leave after the museum but because I wanted to hold on to the moments I didn't leave 'til later. I guess I reflected on everything for the first hour or so of my trip then it was time for me to pull over and take a little nappy nap.
I will tell anyone out there who is lurking. Go ahead and speak up and try to meet some of MY FOLKS. If you don't you will truly miss out. Like I said before it was truly a spiritual thing going on.
If you don't want to hear my story then go ahead and delete now. The day before the gathering started (Thursday), I had made up in my mind that I wasn't going to be financially able to make the trip. So that morning before my day started I prayed for things to work out. I had just left a job, school was starting the Monday after the trip, financial aid wasn't coming through, and money was just short. I knew that I was going to get a job because I had already asked for it and claimed it in the Lord's name, so I wasn't worried about that but the other things were pressing too.
I will say that the Lord is good ALL THE TIME. Because Thursday night after regular business hours, I got a call from the company that I interviewed with that day, offering me a job with more money than I had expected. A friend of mine gave me $100 for being nice to her when she needed me (just out the blue--I don't tend to talk about my financial problems). Financial Aid still hasn't come through but I know that everything is going to be alright.
Then when I get there everything is just lovely. Okay, yall I'm shedding tears in the computer lab. I have to stop.
I LOVE YALL!!
Yep, yep!!!
The Jones family will always be a part of my family. I was welcomed in their home and church and they are welcomed in my heart.
It wasn't my fault Maya.....
I found out we were going to another club when we were in the Parking Lot getting ready to leave. I knew you guys were already gone so there wasn't much I could do at that point. Please forgive me.
>Maya
>By the way, I'm sorry that I didn't get to club with everyone. Ms. Yoli gave Cynt and me the wrong club. But it's all good...I'm just >glad everyone had a good time.
I want to also thank Rick for his hospitality. There was enough food there for everyone, enough entertainment that nobody could say they didn't have anything to do, enough conversation where you could contribute something, and enough love, good feelings, and happiness that is a natural for the AASNET family.
Volleyball game - Folks got enough exercise including getting the ball from the alley and other folks yards.
Dominos - There were some fierce (and I truly mean fierce) players. These folks were serious. There were two tables for playing. Dominos was played the entire time I was there so that meant HOURS of playing time. And the ladies can hold their own.
Spades - Ladies...Las Vegas awaits you for any game you can play.
TV - Rick, it's just like you have a remote control that's as techy as you are. Are you sure you can't fly a plane with your remote?:)
Baby Leah Jossell - the most popular person at the gathering. Jeff (who is truly a doting daddy), as the Beatles song goes, "You've got a lovely daughter."
Personalities pretty much matched the "talk" folks do on the net. And yes...AASNET folks are very goodlooking!
Even though I couldn't participate in all the activities because of other obligations, two hours a day of road time was well worth the trip. I enjoyed meeting family members. There were more than enough cameras so we should be getting some pictures soon. We even had some pictures already developed from Friday and Saturday morning to view.

Now as soon as I grow up...:)
Even though I didn't participate in The GW (Gillian Williams) Reflection Hour, I'm sure folks were listening and thinking. And to think folks actually pay you to impart this information. AASNET members got it free of charge.

I enjoyed showing Sandra the AASNET page. She's really impressed at the other activities members are involved in. Besides, I love a reason for being on a computer.:)
Tell Jeff, if he wants to pay for travel time, I may consider it.;)
